Sponsorship Spotlight

Northern's logoIn 2015, Northern was founded as the result of a merger between a digital marketing agency and an eCommerce focused web development agency. Today, it has become one of Canada’s leading full service digital agencies, consisting of a very close group of highly motivated and engaged individuals.“We’ve created an environment where people look forward to coming to work, and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of digital,” says Chris Craigman, Northern’s Community Manager. “Our entire team strives to be the best they can be everyday, and that has directly contributed to our success.”Located in the Horton Street tech corridor in a 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art office, Northern employs just over 50 employees. In the past year, Craigman transitioned from the role of Project Manager to Community Manager, with the purpose of making sure each employee has the tools and support they need to be the best they can be. By creating such an active and rewarding company culture, the team members at Northern have been able to improve their skills and build relationships. This has led to better communication, more collaboration, and improved efficiency – all of which has enabled Northern to continue to produce amazing results for clients. Nothern recently launched an interdepartmental knowledge sharing program called N Talks - an opportunity for employees to give informative presentations that teach, inspire, and engage other team members. With so many people working in a variety of areas, these talks give employees the chance to learn more about an area they may not be directly involved in on a daily basis, and the knowledge of how it fits into the larger picture of a project.Professional development is just one of the many perks Northern employees experience. Team members benefit from weekly catered lunches, compensated gym memberships, fresh fruit in the office, and fun social events – like camping trips and leadership retreats at all-inclusive resorts. This active culture is an important part of maintaining the sense of community that is such a big part of life at Northern, as well as fostering the passion and excitement the team brings to their work everyday. The benefits of this tight-knit company culture are clear in the quality of work Northern is able to produce for its clients, something that is even acknowledged across the industry. This summer, Northern was the only Canadian agency nominated for the Google Premier Partner Award in Mobile Innovation. These awards recognize and celebrate top-performing Google Premier Partners for their contributions to digital marketing, product innovation and client growth. Northern is one of three Google Premier Partners in London.  Northern’s clients – ranging from local startups to large international retailers – couldn’t be happier with the dedication, passion, and results Northern delivers for them on a daily basis. “Our clients hear about all the exciting things we do, and are impressed with how passionate our employees are as a result of our company culture” says Craigman. The team’s passion doesn’t just include things digital - it also extends out into the community. In 2017 Northern started Northern Cares - a charitable initiative for giving back to the London community. Northern has partnered with numerous not for profits and charities, donating time and giving back any way they can. Northern is also the 2017 IABC Virtuoso Silver SponsorBetween an active company culture and regular charitable work, Northern is providing value to people both inside and outside of the office. A typical day at Northern isn’t only about producing award winning digital work - but also about bettering yourself and your community.
