If you enjoyed the 2015 Project Management event, or were unable to attend, this year’s event is for you! We are partnering with local, communications and certified project management professionals to learn practical tips for managing marketing and communication projects. The event will feature a communications case study scenario which our speakers will walk through, including how they would plan and oversee it from start to finish.

Our Speakers:

Liisa Sheldrick: Communications and Community Relations, 3M Canada

Liisa, Communications and 3Mgives Leader at 3M Canada, joined the company in 2010. In this role she leads a team responsible for the company’s national PR and Media Relations, Employee Communications, Crisis Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility. Liisa moved away from Toronto in 2006, leaving her role as communications manager at Cineplex, to join the creative class in London and start a family.

Liisa’s career in PR and communications spans over 15 years. Her public relations career began at Strategic Objectives, Canada’s most award winning PR agency, and she has represented many household brands over the years, such as: Cinplex, Krispy Kreme, Allstream, RONA, Interac, and La Senza.

Outside her day job, Liisa teaches at Western Continuing Studies; has volunteered with the London Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, the YMCA of Western Ontario, the London Fringe Festival and Nuit Blanche, Museum London; and finds time for some consulting in her free time. Andrew Murray: Project Management Professional

Andrew Murray earned his BA in Political Science from Western University and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. Andrew has over 10 years’ experience in project management working on small, short-term projects to multi-year, multimillion dollar projects through such organizations as Canada Trust, Thames Valley District School Board, and London Life. Andrew is an instructor at Western Continuing Studies where he teaches Business Finance, Motivation for Superior Performance, and Project Management Essentials.

Co-owners and product designers John and Cindy Miller established Illuminate in 2006. Since its inception 10 years ago, John and Cindy have grown their business significantly and Illuminate now employs 25 individuals nationwide. Although Illuminate’s corporate home base and showroom is in London, Ontario – Illuminate has sales associates located across Canada with remote office spaces in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.

Illuminate has a number of innovative lighting products available for sale via their website and sales associates. Illuminate’s revenue stream continues to grow year after year allowing John and Cindy to grow their business and expand across Canada.

About the Project

Illuminate is ready to launch their new daylight office lighting product across Canada! Illuminate has been working on developing this new product; SUNlight for over 3 years now and the company co-owners are extremely eager to have their new product launched as soon as possible. SUNlight offers businesses and their employees with increased productivity amongst other health benefits.

As Illuminate’s Marketing & Sales Manager, you have been tasked with developing and implementing a sales and marketing strategy to launch and promote SUNlight in September 2016.

John and Cindy have requested that the marketing tactics outlined below be included as part of the overall sales and marketing strategy. Other marketing tactics and/or communication vehicles are up to the discretion of Marketing & Sales Manager, as well as the core project team (John and Cindy, VP of Sales, Marketing & Sales Manager, Marketing & Sales Associate).

  • Micro-website (5 to 10 page website)
  • Postcard or brochure for external marketing purposes
  • Webinar for internal marketing purposes
  • Postcard, brochure and/or instruction manual for internal marketing purposes (sales, specifically)
  • Media coverage
  • Launch event (to be held at the London, Ontario showroom)

Project budget: $50,000.00 to $75,000.00
