Communicating during a pandemic: Perspectives from the public, charitable and small business sectors

A few months ago, getting to work was a struggle. The workday began with a rush to get ready, a visit to your favourite coffee shop, road rage when you were stuck waiting for another train to pass through, and a friendly greeting from your co-workers when you finally made it into the office.

COVID-19 has flipped our world upside down. We have all experienced a drastic change in a short period of time. This pandemic has created stress and anxiety for many of us, as we adjust to an environment of physical distancing. Despite the challenges, our community has come together to help each other through this unprecedented time.

This May, we invite communications professionals to join together for a virtual panel to reflect upon the first few months of handling COVID-19 in the workplace. Our panellists, who represent the not-for-profit, public and private sector will share their experience of continuing operations through the pandemic. The panellists are Elaine Gamble, Manager of Corporate Communications at Fanshawe College, Kelly Ziegner, Chief Executive Officer at United Way Elgin Middlesex, and Shannon Kamins, Owner + Master Fermenter Booch Organic Kombucha.
