Roxanne Beaubien wins IABC Gold Quill Award of Excellence

Categories: News

Congratulations to IABC London member Roxanne Beaubien for winning a 2020 IABC Gold Quill Award of Excellence. Beaubien and London Police Service are being recognized globally in the Communication Management: Internal Communication category for their ‘Stronger than you know’ campaign.

The project was an internal mental health initiative designed to increase awareness and understanding about mental wellness and to reduce stigma associated with seeking help when experiencing a mental wellness struggle. The three-pronged anti-stigma campaign centred on testimonials from two members with lived experience, messaging from trusted leaders and a pledge project for all employees. Tactics included videos, a microsite, posters, magnets and a launch event.

A post-campaign survey proved the campaign’s success in reducing stigma, improving opinions about those with mental wellness issues and influencing some to seek help if they were to experience a mental health challenge.

“I am deeply honoured that this work with the London Police Service was recognized at the international level. I am very grateful for those who chose to tell their stories about mental health struggles and am awed by their courage.”

Roxanne Beaubien, now Founder at Duty Calls Communications.
