Are you a communications-savvy Western student? We have an award for you!

Categories: News

Western University is home to many students who will go on to become leaders in the field of corporate communications and public relations. Are you one of those future leaders?

The IABC London Award recognizes a Western University student who demonstrates aptitude and interest in corporate communications and public relations. Presented annually, it is open to Western students registered in the Public Relations diploma program offered through Continuing Studies and those registered in communications-related courses in the faculties of Arts and Humanities, Information & Media Studies and Social Science; Continuing Studies; and Ivey Business School.

“Winning last year’s IABC London Award symbolized my introduction to a strong community of talented communicators who could support me from my integration into the field as a student and throughout my career’s development,” says Jenna Fayad, winner of the 2018 IABC London Award. “A year later this still rings true as I continue to learn from IABC experiences.”

The $500 award is judged by senior IABC members based on the following criteria:

  • Minimum 80 per cent average for the program or past year of study (the number of communications-related courses is taken into consideration);
  • Overall interest in the field of business and creative communications;
  • Career plan as a practitioner in the communications and public relations industry; and
  • Extra-curricular involvement (communications-related preferred).

Does this sound like you? Visit the IABC London website for more information and to download the application form. Applications must be submitted by no later than Friday, April 12, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. EST. The 2019 award recipient will be notified in May and the award will be presented on June 6 at IABC London’s Ruby Jubilee – an evening of laughter, networking and celebrating excellence to mark our chapter’s 40th anniversary.
