Fund Development Specialist – Forest City Film Festival

A full-time role that oversees funding, grants, and assists with sponsor relations and communications. This role can grow to include donor relations, advertising sales, box office ticketing, and concessions.


Writing and Reporting for Grants
– Work with the Executive Director (ED) on grant applications like the London Arts Council, Department of Canadian Heritage, Ontario Creates, Ontario Arts Council, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Celebrate Ontario, Canada Council of the Arts, etc.
– Manage report writing and budget reconciliation on funds from granting agencies.
– Identify new grants for organizational and program support.

Sponsorship Relations
– Create and update sponsorship packages annually.
– Work with ED to find new sponsorship opportunities and cultivate current sponsors.
– Communicate regularly with sponsors with a high level of professionalism.
– Ensure that sponsors receive all promised benefits.
– Work with the Events Committee to organize and participate in sponsor events (sponsor appreciation party, Opening Night, Networking events).
– Starting in August, work with the communications team to ensure that all sponsor placements and advertising in the programs are gathered and placed properly.
– Work with ED and a communications specialist to manage post-event surveys and sponsor tracking.
– Create the sponsor reports and follow up with sponsors in a timely way after the festival.

Other Fund Development
– Develop and implement a strategy for advertising sales for programs and screens and for the concession sales.
– Create a 3-year plan to build member and donor development into the organization’s processes.
