Mentoring fosters the chance to share professional and personal skills and experiences, and is an opportunity for individuals to grow and develop throughout the process.
With this in mind, IABC London is developing a mentoring program set to launch later this summer. The Mentorship Program is being designed to facilitate meaningful mentoring relationships between IABC London members to advance personal and professional development.
A mentoring model and plan is being created with the goal of creating professional career development for all members of IABC who are interested in connecting with other communicators, to share knowledge, offer encouragement, advice and guidance. The program will provide opportunities for members to develop a mentoring relationship with other professionals who can offer advice, provide a window into the realities of today’s professional communication requirements, share experiences, and provide career guidance.
While mentoring is valuable for everyone involved, it is particularly appropriate in fostering the career development of IABC London members, who in the past may have informally taken part in mentoring or desire more formalized professional development.
Most people can identify another person who, at some time in their life, had a significant and positive impact on them. IABC, through this new program, hopes to foster these long lasting and meaningful personal and professional relationships.
