Jamie Gill wins IABC London's I (Heart) IABC in NY contest

Who would have known that simply being an IABC member could land a lucky Londoner in New York City? For Jamie Gill - the winner of the I (Heart) IABC in NY contest - this is one of the many reasons why it pays to be an IABC member!
Jamie's name was drawn from over 140 ballots by IABC sponsors Jim Nothers from Nothers and Ben Lanthier from T&M Graphics & Printing. As an active IABC member and volunteer who attended almost all PD events, Jamie was shocked when he heard the news, "I was so surprised since there were so many ballots to be drawn from in the contest."
Jamie joined IABC as a student in 2007 to become more comfortable with networking and increase his professional networks. He will have plenty of opportunities to hone these skills as he mixes and mingles with IABCers from around the world at the conference. "It will be quite the opportunity to meet other IABC members and learn what communications issues international organizations deal with compared to organizations at a local level," says Jamie.
The contest was the first of its kind held by the London chapter, with a prize package consisting of registration and travel to the IABC International Conference in New York City from June 22-25. The prize is valued up to $2,500 and includes airfare, accommodation and conference registration.
IABC London members could qualify for a draw ballot in a number of ways: maintaining registered status as a chapter member, attending an IABC London event or submitting an entry for our annual Virtuoso Awards. Members earned one ballot for each qualifying activity, and could thereby increase their odds of winning the more they participated in chapter activities.
This will be Jamie's first taste of the Big Apple and he plans to share his take on the International Conference when he returns. Stay tuned for highlights of his trip to come...
