Reporting to the Manager of Public Affairs & Community Relations, this position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of timely communications strategies relating to Board issues and activities.
The Public Affairs Officer will serve as project manager and department lead on various initiatives and will assist in preparing communiques for internal and external board audiences on behalf of the board and its senior officials. This position will also provide advice to senior administration or Trustees regarding media inquiries on a wide variety of issues. The individual may also, from time to time, be responsible for directly responding to such inquires.
The incumbent will also be responsible for supervising support staff within the department as required.
Qualifications:
Three years post secondary education in public relations/communications or project management as well as three to five years of related work experience. Please submit your résumé with proof of educational qualifications and two employment references by 2008 August 05.
