Liaison Officers Biographies


Kim Forgetta – Professional Development Liaison

Kim recently joined London Life as a marketing communications specialist, where she provides communication counsel and support for a variety of projects.

Prior to joining London Life, Kim was at TD for over 10 years, holding an array of communications roles, including, reward & recognition coordinator, communications coordinator and intranet communications specialist.

Kim graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She then went on to complete the Corporate Communications and Public Relations program and the Business Marketing post-graduate program at Fanshawe College.

Kim is a dedicated volunteer at the United Way of London and Middlesex. She’s also a member of the GenNext cabinet, where she leads the social media communications for upcoming events.


Josh Dow – Website Liaison

josh-dowJosh Dow is a web developer who has worked in the technology industry since 1999. In 2001 he was one of three partners who helped found rtraction and he has been building innovative software solutions for clients ever since.

Josh enjoys donating his time and programming skills by volunteering with Los Frutos del Café, a charitable organization that was created by two of his friends in 2000. This organization is dedicated to improving both the learning and overall living conditions of children and their families in communities in and around Nicaragua.

Josh graduated from UWO in 1996 with a degree in Sociology. It was soon after receiving his degree that he realized his true calling was software development – so, in 1997, he entered Fanshawe College where he graduated with a diploma in Computer Programming.

Josh feels lucky that to him, his job doesn’t feel like work, and he enjoys every minute of it.


Sarah Brown – Web & Social Media Liaison

Sarah Brown joined Trojan Technologies in 2003.  She currently holds the position of Marketing Communications Specialist.  In this role, Sarah is responsible for implementing successful marketing communications programs and collateral materials that support Trojan’s Global marketing strategies.

Before joining Trojan, Sarah was a Cultural Ambassador in the Canadian Pavilion at Walt Disney World.  Sarah  holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Western Ontario and a post-graduate diploma in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Fanshawe College.


Mary Ellen Khan – Web & Social Media Liaison

Mary Ellen has been with Tenzing for the past 18 years. She has the dual role of Director of Media Strategies and Project Manager providing Tenzing’s clients with a seamless approach to strategic planning through implementation to measurement.

Mary Ellen graduated from Ryerson University and holds a Certificate from Queen’s Marketing Program and a Certificate in E-Marketing. She is part of the Canadian Media Director’s Council and now a member of the IABC London board.

Mary Ellen’s a busy mom with two daughters and, when time allows, enjoys long-distance running and curling up with a good book.




Jamie Gill – Communications Liaison CONNECT

Jamie has been an active member of IABC London since 2007. He regularly attends IABC London and other networking events and says his strengths are writing and events. Jamie’s educational background consists of a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Western Ontario and is a graduate of the Corporate Communications and Public Relations program at Fanshawe College. Some organizations where he has done community and volunteer work for include, IABC Virtuoso Committee in 2008 and 2009, Pillar Nonprofit Network, Junior Achievement and Sunshine Foundation Dream for Kids.

Currently working in the financial sector in Customer Service, the skills Jamie feels he best utilizes are oral and written communications, problem solving, multi-tasking and the ability to make sound judgements.  Through his involvment with IABC through the years Jamie takes advantage of the writing opportunities and has had is work published on the IABC website and CONNECT E-newsletter.  Jamie‘s dream role is that in the education and/or non-profit sector where he can utilize his strong skills in writing, team work and strategic thinking.

Jamie values his IABC membership and the benefits, which IABC has to offer. In 2008 he was fortunate to attend the 2008 IABC International Conference in New York City and has relied on the workshops in his community work. Jamie thrives on doing well and helping others and looks forward to his second term as  IABC board secretary and Sponsorship Assistant.


Sandy Ross – Chapter Administrator

Launching Word’s Worth nearly 20 years ago, Sandy loves copywriting and all things communication, helping you ‘get the word out and get your Word’s Worth’. Clients love the impact their marketing and messages make, crediting this wordsmith’s gifted turn of phrase or humour as a hook. A past member of CAPS speakers, Sandy also facilitates engaging forums, brainstorms, and workshops.

A focus of community goodwill is her Homepreneur Network founded in 1993, championing micro as distinct from small business. The group shares pride in helping 700 home-based entrepreneurs at 150 past events — and online, 27,000 visiting its portal home at SandyRoss.ca — easing isolation with connections to resources and each other.

This Fanshawe College graduate (Behavioral Science, Secretarial) has volunteered, since her teens, on boards and London’s small business task force. Today, she continues over a decade of service to IABC communicators — since 1998 — as administrator.
